Program Description

This diploma introduces students to the movement of goods, services, information, and materials across local, national, and global supply chains. Students explore logistics coordination, procurement, inventory control, warehousing, transportation, supplier relations, and the role of technology in supply chain operations.

The program is designed for learners interested in practical business operations and problem-solving. Graduates may pursue entry-level roles in logistics, purchasing, warehouse administration, shipping, receiving, and supply chain support across industries such as retail, manufacturing, transportation, distribution, and e-commerce.

Entry Requirements

Academic Requirements

Learners are expected to hold a recognised secondary school qualification or equivalent.
Mature applicants without formal qualifications may be considered on the basis of relevant work experience and their ability to meet the demands of the programme.

English Language Requirements

Learners must demonstrate English language proficiency sufficient to successfully engage with programme materials, participate in learning activities, and complete assessments. This may be evidenced through prior education completed in English or through a recognised English language qualification.

For learners whose first language is not English, an IELTS 5.5 (overall) or above is normally accepted for entry to the diploma. Equivalent English language proficiency may include:

Course Units

Provides a broad overview of how Canadian businesses operate, covering business types, the functional areas of an organization, and the role of business in the economy and society.
Develops the written, verbal, and interpersonal skills needed to produce clear business documents, deliver effective presentations, and communicate professionally in the Canadian workplace.
Builds practical numeracy—percentages, ratios, interest, and basic statistics—applied to everyday business tasks such as pricing, payroll, and budgeting.
Explores how goods and services are produced and delivered, covering process design, quality, inventory, and the flow of materials through the supply chain.
Covers the purchasing process—sourcing suppliers, negotiating terms, issuing orders, and managing supplier relationships—to acquire goods and services efficiently.
Explores how organizations store, track, and control inventory, including warehouse layout, stock levels, and order-fulfilment processes.
Examines the modes and management of moving goods, including carrier selection, routing, and the role of distribution in the supply chain.
Introduces the documentation, regulations, and processes involved in importing and exporting goods across Canadian and international borders.
Introduces the accounting cycle, debits and credits, and financial statements so students can record transactions and interpret the financial position of a business.
Introduces the project life cycle and core tools for planning, scheduling, budgeting, and managing scope, risk, and stakeholders to deliver projects successfully.
Looks at how technology and data are used to plan, track, and optimize supply chain operations and overall performance.
Prepares students for the job market with résumé and cover-letter writing, interview practice, professional networking, and job-search strategies tailored to their field.
